Lana Murphy is a Quill-nominated journalist, producer and presenter based in regional Victoria.
In the newsroom of Echuca-Moama's Riverine Herald, Lana produces relevant news and feature stories for the Murray River region, with rounds spanning court, hospitals, education, entertainment and local government.
She is also editor of PANPA-award-winning feature publication echucamoama magazine. This sees her manage a team of writers, photographers, designers and advertisers to produce the biannual product, distributed to tens of thousands of households.
Lana also co-ordinates and writes for another paid weekly title Campaspe News, generating news stories and snapping photographs between running the digital sphere for McPherson Media's north-eastern products.
She's worked internationally, at Indonesia's pioneer news channel Metro TV, compiling ratings-winning bulletins, producing English and Indonesian-language programs for audiences up to 14 million people.
When she's not probing politicians, following car pursuits or meeting miracle families, Lana still enjoys getting in front of the camera filming lifestyle and entertainment packages, or hosting red carpet events. She's jumped out of a plane from 14,000ft, tried her hand at surfing and nearly lost an arm to an aggravated monkey all in the name of TV.
If the power is out, you'll find Lana reading a good book, taking dog Harley for a walk and eating her way through Australia's culinary capital.
